Challenge

Produce a series of styleframes for a forthcoming client animation.

Solution

I illustrated a set of styleframes for a character animation all themed around the topic of collaboration. The illustrations have been art directed to show the imperfections one might see in a hand drawn picture. Dependant on the style of animation I will either chose to use Illustrator or Photoshop to visualise my ideas. In this case my tool of choice was Photoshop as I could show texture and shading detail which I may not have captured in Illustrator. These assets would be animated to resemble traditional cel animation. To add to this popular effect in motion graphics the animation would be animated on twos at 12 frames per second. This would greatly improve on the style as seen in older traditional animations.
